The history of the NECROPOL exhibition is the history of the emergence and development of a new industry in Russia. The exhibition moved from the All-Siberian to the international level, a huge amount of work has been done not only to develop the material and technical base of the funeral business, but also to create a legislative foundation. Today we stand on the threshold of a new understanding of the philosophy of death.
In 1993, it was not very clear why there would be an exhibition on such a delicate topic as funerals. The purpose of the exhibition is to change attitude in society, to show that death should be as beautiful as the birth of a child. After all, our society, mired in social and political upheaval, ignored this ancient and eternal problem. This topic was a social taboo, which, in fact, for a century, was kept silent as something shameful.
