The Flagship Event of Russia’s Fishing Industry
The Global Fishery Forum & Seafood Expo Russia, the flagship international congress and exhibition event of Russia’s fisheries sector, will hold its 10th edition in September 2027, at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre in Saint Petersburg. The event is organised by the Federal Agency for Fisheries (Rosrybolovstvo) with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
Exhibition Scale and International Participation
The 2027 edition builds on the success of previous years. In 2026, the event attracted over 20,000 specialists from 84 regions of Russia and 81 foreign countries, with 347 companies from 37 Russian regions and 11 countries exhibiting their products and services.
International participation continues to grow significantly in 2027. Key developments include:
- China will have its largest-ever exhibition presence, with multiple large collective stands, including one curated by the China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance (CAPPMA)
- Iran will present a national exposition for the first time
- India has expanded its MPEDA stand by more than three times compared to the previous year
- Companies from Vietnam, Turkey, South Korea, South Africa, Belarus, and other EAEU countries are also participating
- Official delegations from Cuba, Sri Lanka, Chile, Mozambique, Qatar, and other countries are expected to visit
- Brazil will be represented, continuing the international cooperation agenda established during recent high-level fisheries negotiations
Exhibition Programme
Seafood Expo Russia covers the entire supply chain of the fisheries industry — from fishing and aquaculture to processing, logistics, storage, packaging, and delivery of finished products to consumers. The exhibition spans 26,000 m², including 9,700 m² of exposition space.
Specialised Expositions:
- SHIP TECH GLOBAL – Showcases the full spectrum of equipment and services for the construction, outfitting, and maintenance of fishing fleet vessels and food processing facilities. This includes solutions for large, medium, and small-tonnage vessels, as well as equipment for processing and logistics
- AQUA FARM GLOBAL – Brings together representatives of aquaculture and mariculture, presenting solutions for the transition to more intensive farming models for aquatic biological resources. The exposition now features over 100 companies and two operational recirculating aquaculture systems for live demonstrations
Regional Participation: Russian regions including Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Rostov, Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Tatarstan, Sevastopol, and others will showcase their capabilities through collective stands.

- “Best Fish Product” competition — recognising excellence in the sector
- FishCorr Award — honouring journalists specialising in fisheries development, aquatic resource restoration, and ecology, held since 2019
- FISH PACK competition — evaluating product packaging and presenting awards to winners
Business Programme and Forum
The Global Fishery Forum is a large-scale congress event where key issues of economics, fisheries regulation, legislation, and international cooperation are discussed. The 2027 business programme features 32 events with participation from Russian and international experts and thought leaders.
Plenary Session Theme: The central theme for 2027 is “Transition to a Bioeconomy in the Fishery Industry – The Key to Technological Development and Economic Transformation”. The discussion will focus on a model of economic activity based on the use of biotechnology and scientific knowledge about living systems to improve resource efficiency and ensure sustainable development of the industry.

New Direction – BRICS+ and Global South: A new programme block focuses on cooperation with BRICS+ countries and Global South nations. Participants will discuss the development of a multipolar global trade model, new export and logistics routes, and cooperation in processing, aquaculture, shipbuilding, and other fisheries technologies.
International Trout Forum: A significant new addition to the 2027 business agenda, the International Trout Forum will bring together key production enterprises, Russian regional leaders, and representatives from friendly countries involved in salmon and trout farming development. The forum is expected to open new perspectives for the industry, providing a platform for dialogue between business and government and for accelerating the implementation of best practices in breeding, feed production, and genetics.

The exhibition provides direct access to buyers from major federal and regional retail chains. Participating retail and marketplace representatives include X5 Group, Magnit, Lenta, Verny, Samokat, Yandex.Lavka, Kuper, OZON, and others. The event facilitates direct meetings, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements across the supply chain.
Cultural and Culinary Events
Gastronomic Festival “Russian Fish”: Following the forum and exhibition, a large gastronomic festival will be held in September at the Brusnitsyn Cultural Quarter in Saint Petersburg. Over 25,000 guests are expected to enjoy live music, 12 restaurant concepts, culinary shows, a “Fish on the Grill” championship, masterclasses, and other activities.
Football Match: An industry friendly football match will take place on the evening of the first day of the forum at the Olimpiets Stadium in Pavlovsk, with transport provided for participants and visitors.
