Russia’s Premier Commercial Vehicle Exhibition Moves to Kazan

Comtrans, Russia’s largest and most significant specialised exhibition for commercial vehicles, is set to make history in 2027 with a landmark move. The exhibition will leave Moscow and be hosted in Kazan. The event is scheduled to take place in September 2027 at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre.

A New Venue with Symbolic Significance

The relocation of Comtrans to Kazan is a strategic decision that reflects the growing industrial importance of the Volga Federal District. The Republic of Tatarstan is described as the “core of domestic mechanical engineering and the driving force behind the development of Russia’s transport cluster”. This move positions the exhibition at the heart of the country’s commercial vehicle and machinery sector, making it a more accessible hub for industry professionals and regional leaders.

What the Exhibition Offers

Comtrans 2027 will feature a comprehensive display of commercial vehicles, from heavy-duty trucks to light commercial vehicles (LCVs), buses, and specialised equipment. Visitors can expect to see the latest models and innovations from leading domestic and international manufacturers.

Key exhibitors include a strong line-up of Russian brands such as KAMAZ, GAZ, URAL, MAZ, Sollers, and Avtotor. International participation is also significant, with major Chinese manufacturers like Foton, Sinotruk, Dong Feng, Shacman, and Yutong confirmed to attend. A number of Turkish companies, including Koluman and Sinanli Tanker, will also be present.

Exhibition Highlights and Test Drive

The exhibition space is expected to feature over 150 exhibitors across three pavilions. A major highlight of the 2026 edition is the COMTRANS Drive, a unique feature allowing visitors to test commercial vehicles in real-world conditions on a specially prepared 7-kilometre route. This gives fleet owners, operators, and drivers the chance to evaluate vehicle dynamics, braking, and performance under load firsthand.

Business Programme and Industry Focus

The event is not merely a static display but a major business forum. The Comtrans Arena will host strategic sessions, roundtables, and panel discussions on the most pressing issues facing the industry. Key topics for 2027 include the transition to alternative fuels, the development of new leasing strategies, and digitalisation of vehicle fleets.

The official business programme enjoys high-level government support, with participation expected from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Transport, and the leadership of Tatarstan. A special track focusing on Chinese brands in the Russian market and a University Congress for transport students are also planned.

The exhibition is supported by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Comtrans 2027 represents a new chapter for Russia’s premier commercial vehicle event. By relocating to Kazan, the exhibition strengthens its connection to the heart of Russian industry. With a comprehensive exhibition, live test drives, and a robust business programme, Comtrans offers an essential platform for industry professionals to discover new technologies, network with key stakeholders, and navigate the evolving landscape of the commercial vehicle market. The event is free to attend with online registration.
